Western Cape: Deputy Provincial Manager (5/8 post) West Coast or Overberg District
Job Main Purpose:
- Serving the members of the province by answering inquiries and assisting the school or the school governing body (SGB)
- Providing training in order to enable SGB's to ensure quality education at the schools
- Ensuring that there are open channels to communicate effectively with member schools, as well as, with the Provincial Education Department
- Responsible for the recruitment and service of our membership, as well as, representing the FEDSAS values and brand of the province

The successful candidate will be expected, inter alia, to:
- Build healthy relationships with members
- Answer queries, offer solutions and advice to members
- Develop and train governing body members (in person, as well as online)
- School visits
- Recruit new members
- Regular liason with the District Department of Education and other stakeholders
- Support the provincial manager
- Regular feedback and communication with the provincial manager
- Continuous marketing of the FEDSAS products and services
- Maintain an interest in and keep abreast of events in education and must inform colleagues and other interest groups about the events
- Display appropriate knowledge and experience of education law and policies
- Display appropriate problem solving and conflict management capacity
Characteristics:
- Proven and current knowledge and experience of the functioning, governance and management of a school
- Proven and current knowledge of education departmental structural processes regarding the functioning of a school
- Proven ability to function diligently and independently without direct supervision
- Proficient in administrative and organizational skills
- Must maintain a high work ethic
- Proven capacity, knowledge and skills in the Microsoft product range (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint) and online platforms (Zoom and Microsoft Teams)
- Effective and efficient communication skills, writing, reading and speaking in Afrikaans and English (proficiency in another African language will be a recommendation)

Wes-Kaap: Adjunk-Provinsiale Bestuurder (5/8ste pos) Weskus of Overberg Distrik
Doel van die pos:
- Die posbekleër dien die lede van die provinsie deur navrae te beantwoord en hulp aan die skool of die beheerliggaam (SBL) te bied.
- Die posbekleër moet opleiding verskaf om SBL'e in staat te stel om kwaliteitonderwys by die skole te verseker.
- Moet verder meehelp dat daar oop kanale is om effektief met lidskole asook die Provinsiale Onderwysdepartement te kommunikeer.
- Die adjunk-provinsiale bestuurder is verantwoordelik vir die werf van nuwe lede, sowel as om die handelsmerk van FEDSAS in die provinsie uit te bou.
Kernprestasieareas:
- Bestuur van lede se sake en belange.
- Opleiding en ontwikkeling.
- Skakeling met belangegroepe.
- Fokus in die Weskus of Overberg distrik.
Van die suksesvolle kandidaat sal onder meer die volgende verwag word:
- Bou van gesonde verhoudings met lede en belangegroepe.
- Hanteer navrae en bied oplossings en advies aan lede.
- Opleiding en ontwikkeling van beheerliggame (in persoon asook aanlyn).
- Skoolbesoeke.
- Werf nuwe lede.
- Gereelde skakeling met die Distriksonderwysdepartement en ander belangegroepe.
- Bied ondersteuning aan die provinsiale bestuurder.
- Gereelde terugvoering en kommunikasie met die provinsiale bestuurder.
- Voortdurende bemarking van FEDSAS se produkte en dienste.
- Moet op hoogte bly met die gebeure in die onderwys en moet kollegas en ander belanghebbendes daaroor inlig.
- Toepaslike kennis en ervaring van onderwyswetgewing en -beleide.
- Toepaslike kapasiteit in probleemoplossing- en konflikbestuur.
Eienskappe:
- Moet oor goeie kennis beskik van die funksionering, beheer en bestuur van ? skool.
- Goeie kennis van departementele strukture en prosesse met betrekking tot die funksionering van 'n skool.
- Moet selfstandig sonder toesig kan funksioneer.
- Goeie administratiewe- en organisatoriese vaardighede.
- Moet 'n hoë werksetiek handhaaf.
- Goeie kennis en vaardigheid van die Microsoft produkreeks (Word, Excel, Outlook en PowerPoint) en aanlyn platforms (onder meer Zoom en Microsoft Teams).
- Goeie kommunikasievaardighede, skryf, lees en praat in Afrikaans en Engels (vaardigheid in 'n ander Afrikataal sal 'n aanbeveling wees).
